New record snowfall in Canada

Stories of Mountain News Corporation, publishers of snow suggest that ski areas close to the U.S. earlier than in previous years, a story very different from the previous week. Initial reports were that more than 10 American ski resorts have remained open, but apparently many of them have already confirmed they will be closed after the first weekend of May, in some cases ahead of schedule .

In Colorado, Arapahoe Basin closed on May 6 its first closing for just over 30 seasons. In Washington, there are conflicting reports, White Pass and closed on May 6. Crystal Mountain, on the other hand, said he remains open on weekends, as long as the snow lasts, at least until the end of May, when he received 48cm of new snow in the last days. California is a similar story, Donner Ski Ranch is open on weekends, “until the snow is gone,” and was declared a base near 3m few days ago. Kirkwood, traditionally a beneficiary of the extensive spring snow has not yet decided whether it will reopen.

??tell a different story. The ski resorts of Banff and Lake Louise in Alberta snow record this season to see some of the best snow in western North America. Very dry and sunny, ideal for skiing, the region is known for its “Champagne Powder” famous. Sunshine Village was among the record breakers with a total of about 10m snowfall. Sun remains open until 21 May, one of the longest seasons in North America.

2011/12 season was spectacular for the Lake Louise Ski, so much so that there is a splash announced spring weekend bonus. “We are always looking for ways to get our season and Louise valued addition holders of the card, we appreciate their loyalty, then that’s what the weekend bonus is all about,” says owner Charlie Locke. The ski area is now 13, can be closed.
